Lured from NZ to Sydney with his R&B pub-band by an unscrupulous promoter, Johnny landed at the cusp of Australia's emerging golden era: Sydney in the Eighties. That band, Johnny & the Hookers, soon dissolved amid the hedonism of the day. Pretty soon Johnny's song Fun Loving was receiving high rotation on Double J and Dropbears were becoming a vital part of the vibrant Sydney music scene.
The Johnny Batchelor Bears, with local luminaries Yani Socratous, Lee Borkman and Anthony Pingnam, will play a chilled Saturday afternoon of rockin', poppin' grooves at Frank's Wild Years.
