Both Snowy and The Great Divides of the Naarm “jumble pop” scene released brand new albums on the very same day. To celebrate this happy accident the two acts are touring the East of the country to launch “Philharmonic” and “(I’m sure)” together in a series of special collaborative shows.
“Philharmonic” is the latest Snowy side-quest - conceived of as album in-full while touring the US earlier in 2024; recorded quickly and chaotically in over the Spring months, the album’s music is brought to life, live by the “Snowy Philharmonic” - a orchestral jumble collective.
Informed by their regional background, The Great Divides explore the themes of isolation and the expanse of landscape as well as the discordant nature of city living on this new release, reflecting their experiences over the past few years. Partly recorded outdoors, ‘(i’m sure)’ is a tentative declaration of intent that they’ll find a way no matter the obstacle. Teetering towards falling apart and then exploding out in a cacophony of sound.
